Joe's Surgery

Joe's back surgery was Wednesday afternoon. It went pretty well, it just took much longer than expected. He was very miserable wed. night. The morphine made him itch like crazy, and he was in pain, to say the least. We didn't sleep much (another understatement), who can sleep in a hospital anyway? Thursday morning I poured splenda into the trash recepticle at Starbucks instead of in my coffee. Two teenage girls pretended that I wasn't crazy. Then I spilled coffee on my shirt and wore it the whole day (not the first time for that to happen). Later when I went to get Joe's prescription filled at Walmart, I let the babies open cheese crackers (nabs), and we left a trail everywhere we went. And Isaac had cheese in his hair AND his ears. And all over. Before I had kids I guess I thought that there were some things that I "would never do", like eating messy things in a store. I've done several of those things now. I'm not even counting. All I can say about THAT is: If you don't have children of your own, you can't pass judgement (you shouldn't anyway), and you will not know what it is like to have children until you have children OF YOUR OWN. Period. I've learned this the hard way. Anyway, I'm getting side-tracked.
For me, the day could have been much worse. Thank you Lord! Joe is feeling better, but he is still in a lot of PAIN. His recovery should be about 6 wks. Please pray for him. Thank you.

I'll keep on praying for your Joe!
Aside from Joe's surgery/recovery, this post cracked me up! We all, even the childless, have these days honey! :) When our minds are elsewhere it's bound to happen.
Lots of love,
Caroline

I'm praying for all of you. I hope Joe feels a lot better soon.

The splenda in the trash receptacle... I've done things like that. :)
