Redneck Life

I've taken a little break from this blog over the summer, but it's time for me to jump back into it. My Mama brain needs help remembering the happenings that go by too fast.

We had a family get together this weekend with my husband's family in south Alabama. One of those shindigs where everyone is hot, dirty, and the kids consume a years worth of sugar in one day. Good times. But hey, what are family gatherings in the south all about? Togetherness and good food. And heat. No shortage on the heat!

Just a few moments I captured with the iPhone & Fujifilm:
The twins played with cousins and new friends from around the camp ~

Isaac talking to his great-grandpa, Papaw Elvin ~
 MiMi and Avery ~
 Avery enjoying a popsicle ~
Those hay bales were too much fun.
 Savannah and Elizabeth ~
 Hay bales again!
 There's a lot going on here ~
 A boy and a swing ~ (Noah)
 Front porch sittin' ~
Savannah chatting with her Aunt Amber ~

Peyton wanted a picture with the bull/cow in the background.

Liz talking with her great-grandmother Georgie. Did I mention it was this lady's birthday? Happy Birthday Mamaw Georgie! We love you!

These last two pictures are from a visit earlier this summer:

Happy 4th!

I hope your day was dance-worthy!

"It ain't the guns nor armament,
nor funds that they can pay,
but the close co-operation,
that makes them win the day.
It ain't the individual,
nor the army as a whole,
but the everlasting teamwork
of every bloomin' soul."

Happy Birthday USA!

Friends

Our good friends Joel, Camon, and their ADORABLE baby boy, Boaz, visited our neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago. All the way from Colorado! It was so great to visit with them. This is a random assortment of pictures from our trip to Natural Bridge, AL - so glad we all went together! It isn't too far from where we live and is a beautiful, easy hike to take the kids on.
 Joel & Boaz ~
 So sweet ~
 "Why are you interrupting?"

Love this picture of the twins.

Isaac kept running ahead, climbing on rocks and just having the best time.

 Camon & Boaz.

Boaz loved Savannah and Isaac. He laughed at them every time they did anything, so cute.

Uncle Joe (my husband) playing with Boaz. LOVE.

Joel and Camon, y'all come back soon!  We'll babysit ;-)

Happy Easter

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter...

He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ~Isaiah 53:5

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
~Romans 5:8

Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." ~John 11:25&26
